At our River Cubs preschool program we engage our students in academic studies across disciplines such as Literature, STEAM, and Circle Time activities in both English and Spanish. Our curriculum is designed to intentionally expose children to both languages, fostering bilingual proficiency from an early age.
Our preschool schedule is designed with a variety of activities and transitions to create a safe and predictable environment for your child. From meal times to circle time, we aim to nurture their curiosity and excitement as they move from one activity to another.
Importantly, your child engages in learning through play, enjoying games and songs throughout the day. Even routine tasks such as washing hands, cleaning up, and brushing teeth become enjoyable learning moments.
Children aged 3 to 5 have a significant opportunity to develop their social-emotional skills. At River Cubs, we are dedicated to guiding children in cultivating positive social habits and competencies. Utilizing the Conscious Discipline curriculum, we are well-versed in the various stages of brain development. Our approach supports students in self-soothing, fostering strong and joyful relationships, and practicing polite interactions.
After a morning filled with engaging activities, we provide our preschoolers with a designated downtime to relax. During this period, students typically take naps, and we find that they are generally successful in establishing this routine at preschool. However, if your child is unable to nap, we offer quiet activities such as puzzle building or coloring.
At River Cubs, we promote movement, body awareness, and gross motor development through the CATCH curriculum, dance, and yoga. Additionally, we ensure that children spend at least 30 minutes outside during recess.
We are dedicated to equipping your child for success as they transition into kindergarten. Our curriculum emphasizes academic inquiry across Language Arts, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Each day, we engage in reading for a minimum of one hour. Furthermore, we focus on enhancing fine motor skills essential for handwriting development, ensuring that your child is prepared to write their name confidently. Upon graduating from River Cubs, we highly recommend enrolling your child in a dual immersion program to foster their continued bilingual growth and development.
